News Backgrounders
-- summaries of continuing news events

  Suppose every time we publish a story on school funding, capital punishment, the Moreland case or Dayton's baseball quest we could print a URL for background on the story.
  The library already prepares files of this nature. We take the basic background information from the major stories on a long-running news event and repackage it as more of an "encyclopedia" entry.
  Each file summarizes the news event and includes links to major stories we've written, and a "search" button which activates a pre-written search statement against the archive. So even if we haven't updated the main file recently, the search button always brings up the most current stories.
