President of United Auto Workers Local 696 for 10 years, Joe "Has" Hasenjager found himself in the national spotlight in March 1996 after a strike at Delphi Chassis Systems in Dayton forced the shut- down of nearly every General Motors Assembly plant in the U.S.
Hasenjager, born 4-7-45, led UAW Local 696 from 1987 to 1997 when he resigned to become a representative with the International UAW in Detroit.
