U.S. Rep. Tony P. Hall(D-3rd District)
-- congressman representing Dayton

Tony P. Hall, the son of former Dayton Mayor Dave Hall, was elected Dayton's congressman in 1978 and has been comfortably re-elected each term since then.
Hall is a Democrat and is considered by many to be liberal in his political viewpoints. However, he is also a born-again Christian and opposes abortion.
His top cause is world hunger and he chairs the House Select Committee on Hunger. In late 1994 he went on a 22-day fast after Congressional Republicans voted to abolish the committee.
Hall gave a speech on hunger and abortion at the 1996 Democratic National Convention.
In 1997 Hall introduced a resolution asking Congress to apologize to black Americans for slavery.
